             REPLACING THE BATH PANEL

This is quite a simple procedure,most bath panels are easy to come of but sometimes you get the odd one that requires some brackets and hidden fittings.

Normally you just unscrew the panel from the bath frame ,measure and cut the new panel to fit the void under the bath

           Drilling into tiles

SAFETY FIRST!!

Wear protective eyewear and gloves

Be very careful when attempting this because the drill will tend to slip.

1. Mark position of hole making sure there are no pipes behind the tiles.

2. Use masking tape to mark an X where you want to drill

3. Using a masonry drill or a diamond head drill bit-gently drill using the lowest setting until you “score” the face of the tile and the brown under face shows through.

At this point you can increase the drill speed (DO NOT USE HAMMER ACTION)

SAFETY FIRST!!!!

To cut a tile :hold it down into the corner of the “end stop”

Mark the cutting line with a felt tip pen or marker.

Allow about 2 mm for spacers.

Starting from the bottom tip of the tile ,raise the handle of the cutter onto the tile surface,gently press down and in a quick upward motion,score the tile only once,place tile in ‘Jaws” and break along the scored line

To re grout tiles you will first of all need to “rake out” the old grout,and this can be a laborious task.There are various tools you can use for this the most common is a “grout remover” tool which is shaped like a wheel .Scrape out the old grout-not completely and grout as in “wall tiles”
